  • New ~ The Washington, DC AIS no longer has a physical office, they now have a virtual office. Their new mailing address is: AIS-DCS MD, PO Box 7457, Silver Spring, MD 20907. Use the WSO website to find meetings in Montgomery & Prince George’s Counties and the District of Columbia.
  • At the October 21 Area 24 Fall Elections Assembly, many positions were filled, but many are still available. Ask you Higher Power and your sponsor whether your recovery would benefit from being the next Area Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, or even our next Delegate to the World Service.
  • Both the Spring and Fall Conventions have many open positions. (The blue text will send an email to the respective chairpersons.) These are great opportunities to work with others in the Area for just a few months, to make these fun events even better!
  • Baltimore AIS has filled almost all the service positions, except Health Fair Coordinator. If interested, please come to the April 16th  meeting (Meeting ID 819 8280 9606; passcode BaltoAIS) or write to baltoaischair@gmail.com
  • The women at the Jessup Correctional Facility would be grateful for members of Al-Anon making a meeting possible for them: see the letter from our coordinator, Margaret B.

  • Is your group still meeting online? At the Area 24 Spring Assembly in May of 2023, Group Representatives voted to accept online meetings into the Area service structure. [This does not affect groups that are in-person or hybrid.] If your previously in-person meeting plans to meet virtually for the foreseeable future, and is not interested in being a Global Electronic Meeting, please fill out this Electronic-Group-Change-Form; instructions here. If your virtual group has split off from one that has gone back to being in-person, it must register as a new meeting with this form: Electronic-Group-Registration-Form. Since the forms asks, please note that a Beginners’ Meeting ought to consider following these WSO Guidelines.
  • Conference Approved Literature is available from our new literature person, Kim D., at alanonliteraturedepot@gmail.com. This supports the AIS, and you can avoid the WSO’s $10 postage fee if you meet her at a meeting. A price list of all titles is here. Kim also sells for $0.15 each the newest paper directory of local meetings, just revised February 5. These may also be purchased at the monthly AIS meetings, or you may even print it yourself, landscape mode on legal-sized paper.
  • Tradition 7: Al-Anon must remain self-supporting through your voluntary service and financial contributions. Group treasurers can find their group number on the printable directory to identify group contributions. The group number may also be found in the last column of the meeting lists on the Meetings page of this website.
